Application, Type and Specification of Oil Casing Pipe

Oil casing pipe is the important equipment in oil drilling whose main equipments include drill pipe, drill collar and steel pipe of slim-hole drilling, core barrel and casing pipe, etc. Domestic casing pipe is made by geological drilling after hot rolling process or cold drawing process, the steel grade is expressed with "geology" - DZ, and it is the commonly used casing pipe steel.There are three kinds: DZ40, DZ55, DZ753.

1. Application of oil casing pipe

The oil casing pipe is mainly used in oil and gas well drilling and oil and gas transmission. It includes petroleum drill pipe, oil casing pipe, tubing. Oil drill pipe is mainly used to connect the drill collar and bit and drilling. Oil casing pipe is mainly used in the drilling process and after the completion of borehole wall support in order to ensure the complement of drilling process and the normal operation of the oil wells after completion of drilling. Tubing pipe mainly will transmit oil and gas at the bottom of the oil well to the ground.

2. Type of oil casing pipe

According to SY/T6194-96 "petroleum casing pipe" can be classified into two kinds: short thread casing pipe and its coupling and long thread casing pipe and its coupling.

3. Specification and appearance quality of oil casing pipe

(1) According to provisions of SY/T6194-96, domestic casing pipe has uncertain feet in length, and the range is between 8 m to 13 m. The casing pipe can be provided no less than 6 m, but its amount shall not exceed 20% of the total amount.

(2) The internal and external surfaces of the casing pipe shall not have been folded and could not have hairline, delamination, crack, rolling and scarring. These defects shall be completely removed, but the depth of removing shall not exceed 12.5% of the nominal wall thickness.

(3) Both the casing pipe and coupling thread surface should be smooth. It is not allowed that there is burr, tear and other defects enough making the thread break it off to impact strength and cut off the close relationship.
